The animals that are in the care of the ISPCA come in many different varieties, shapes, sizes and ages – including rabbits. 

Sadly, many rabbits come to us when the novelty of cleaning and caring for them wears off, some are simply abandoned. As rabbits can live up to eight years, owning a rabbit is a big commitment.  Floppy and Meco came into our care along with many other rabbits and their kittens. None were spayed or neutered and the situation was out of control. The benefits of spaying or neutering include a longer, healthier life; and a calmer rabbit that’s easier to train and will bond with their owner. Most importantly, it helps prevent the over population that results in so many rabbits being surrendered or abandoned.  

Our rescue centres are open 365 days of the year. And our team of inspectors continue to provide essential animal welfare services bringing animals to safety and the first step on their journey to a loving new home.
